Leslie has been an international freelance journalist and global travel writer for more than 23 years. She has written for many publications and online resources over her career. Currently, she writes for AAA Southern Traveler, ESSENCE, Upscale Living, The Ashro Blog, Travel Bags with Annita, and AAA Midwest Traveler.

Her articles include cover features as well as parenting, business, consumer, Christian, history, global travel, arts and high-profile celebrity interviews. Leslie has been married to Tony Royal for 33 years.
Leslie is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is also a member of Berean Christian Church where she serves in the Deacons Ministry. Because of their commitment to the community, the Royals have received many awards. She volunteers for Tony’s nonprofit organization called Forty Days to Deliverance, Inc. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Georgia State University as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Studies and Master of Divinity from Luther Rice College and Seminary. She and Tony have two adult children - Antasha and Jay.
